About Cherie


Cherie was raised in Champaign County, and chooses to call it home. She attended Yankee Ridge school in Urbana, Holy Cross in Champaign, and graduated St. Joseph-Ogden High School. She briefly left the community to attend Eureka College (College of Ronald Reagan), returning in 1998 to attend the University of Illinois College of Law.


Cherie is a private practice attorney with experience in a broad range of civil and criminal law, including: Real Estate; Family; Estates, Wills, and Trusts; Criminal, Traffic, and DUI; Juvenile Abuse and Neglect; Municipal Law; Criminal and Civil Litigation; and some Appellate Work. Cherie also gives back to the community by donation pro bono and sliding scale legal services to people who would be otherwise remain unrepresented.

Active in Community

She has volunteered at numerous nonprofits in the community including Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Junior League, and has held the role of officer in several. Currently, she is the President of the Illinois Federation of Business Women’s Clubs.


Cherie has been married for 20 years to Brian Parrott who is a Solution Architect in computer software at Strata Decision Technology. They have three children. Her oldest, Will Parrott is 16 years old and attends Mahomet High School where he plays on the football team and runs track. C.C. is 15 years old and attends Mahomet High School and is a member of the marching band and color guard flag team. Carrie is 12 years old and attends Mahomet Seymour Junior High School and enjoys attending Space Camp every year. Cherie has always been active her children’s school activities and has organized volunteer activities and fundraisers to the benefit of their academic community.


Cherie comes from a family with a long tradition in the law. Her brother is an attorney in Rockford, Illinois. She aspires to be a judge because she can bring her varied private practice abilities and community involvement to the courtroom, giving her the ability the law in an  objective and reasoned manner built on the foundation of real-life experience.
